CAMRA and Real Ale in Cumbria

Cumbria Pub of the Year 2008:
is announced!

Westmorland nominated the Old Dungeon Ghyll
Furness nominated the Manor Arms, Broughton in Furness
and Solway nominated the Pheasant Inn at Cumwhitton
West Cumbria nominated the Kirkstile Inn

Judges from each branch went round filling in scoring sheets according to CAMRA's national guidelines.
And the result is:
The Manor Arms, Broughton in Furness!!!!!

Congratulations to all four - it was a tough contest and they are all great contenders. Go and see for yourself.

Next - how will the Manor do against the Lancashire pub: - the Derby Arms, Aughton and the Isle of Man pub: - Whitehouse Hotel, Peel in the West Pennines Regional Pub of the Year competition? The winner of that is one of the top 16 in the country.

CAMRA's Full Pints Campaign.
CAMRA supports full pints being served in oversized lined glasses. See here for further details and to sign the online petition.
These Cumbrian pubs serve full pints in oversized lined glasses. Please email if you know of others that should be added to the list.
