Whitehaven Beer Festival

CAMRA West Cumbria this year moved their annual beer festival to Whitehaven. The October festival was extremely successful in bringing hundreds of people in to try some flavoursome real ales in what is known locally as a lager town. Some of the countryıs most prolific beer tasters were there, and visitors even came all the way from the USA especially for the beer festival. Organisers Paul and Julia Mullarkey (pictured with our Beer Monster and Great Gable brewer Giles Holiday) thank all branch members, brewers and sponsors who helped with the festival.

Joint winners of Beer of the Festival were Alchemistıs Ale from Pictish brewery in Rochdale and Mantra from Brown Cow in Selby. Matt Webster scored a coup when the Loweswater Breweryıs Melbreak bitter came third, attracting the highest number of votes for a Cumbrian beer.
